How to promote a better public-private partnership to improve urban freight?
10th avril 2008
Campus universitaire des Cézeaux
POLYTECH - Amphi 2
Clermont-Ferrand
France
In Europe, the transport sector is responsible for more than 26% of CO2 emissions and urban freight for more than 20% of CO emissions in a city. This last is essentially managed by private sector but an interest from local authorities emerged due to the fact that loading and unloading activities are essential for local economy. Within that context, businesses and public authorities need to work together in order to find adapted solutions. The French National BESTUFS seminar in Clermont-Ferrand will be a good opportunity to present successful co-operations but also what the current thoughts regarding this issue are in France and abroad. An interactive workshop with all delegates will be a part of the seminar activities.
